OpenStreetMap edits only the map data, not your navigation device. The roundabout is positioned correctly, according to satellite images, so if your device is saying you were still south of the roundabout but you had already passed it, you will need to take this up with the manufacturer of your navigation device. But if you are saying that something specific at your marker position should actually be mapped north of the roundabout, that is a different matter. But we would need to know which specific map feature is wrong in order to correct that.
.... aaaaand this is why I don't contribute to OSM.
My "navigation device" is my phone. Yes, totally understand that tall buildings etc throw off GPS.
I can tell you for certain that there is no Domino's Pizza at this spot. If you require me to stand opposite and take a photo, then fine. It's a Shell petrol station. it is not a pizza place.
There *is* a Dominos and it is just north of the roundabout, and is correctly located and marked.
I work in tech and open source and I really don't have time or interest in people lording over my completely legit edit suggestions, but I see why OSM and Wikipedia are so difficult to contribute to. Enjoy.
Now you've explained that the problem is with Dominos, I've verified it and removed it.
Andy Piper, you're clearly overreacting here. This was a honest misunderstanding (which could have been avoided had you just used a few words more in your note - if you're working in tech then you know that precise bug reports go a long way). As soon as you had explained what the issue was, it got fixed. No need to tell us all (twice) that we're not worth your time which is not exactly respectful either.
At the same time, it's not exactly great when someone suggests a helpful correction and gets a whole lecture about how OSM works. There's a whole bunch of over-reacting here but the second comment would have been better phrased as "Thanks - which particular feature?" and no more.
But then I'm not helping by continuing this so I'll shut up ;)
