Unresolved note #1855375
Description
The alignment of the replacement span (not viewable on regular map, but when you are in edit mode) has changed. The new span will be built at least 100ft north of the current southbound span; the southbound span will be converted to northbound; and the current northbound span will be demolished when the rest of the project is done.

I should have mentioned that I couldn't delete replacement span alignment here (between the existing bridges) because first I couldn't zoom out far enough to delete it (error that not enough of object was visible, but when I kept zooming out, it said I needed to zoom in to edit). I tried spliting the line, but I couldn't delete because it was part of a relation/path.
try a different editor? i don't recall having that problem with potlatch, and josm should give you enough rope to shoot yerself in the foot in ways that others will struggle to clean up with their editors.
dunno about the split issue, as i've never had problems correctly splitting things in a relation and preserving everything across all parts. then again, it sounds like a protection against shooting yourself in the foot. you are speaking of iD editor, no?
i'd try to edit here in potlatch but i'm not awake enough to understand what you need done, sorry
