Changeset: 97134498
Part 1 (cities and a few of the Regional councils will be Parts 2, 3), South District update of localities, nametags, population, etc. only a node is to represent a locality. An area that shows residential landuse shouldn't show locality information.

Hello NFZANMNIM,
In this edit, and several others, you have mapped places depopulated in the 1948 war. You write that the places do not existes for more than 70 years.
In some places you have created a degradation of data that is known to be correct, such as the deletions of tags denoting a Byzantine ruin in https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/6307816088/history.
I believe your edits are not compatible with the OSM policies:
- Map what's on the ground
- Don't map historic events and historic features
- Document and discuss automated editsPlease avoid further such edits.
Best Regard,
zstadlerA list of many such edits is available at http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/12eQ
the list is probably not comperhensive. -

Hello,
With regards to Summeil specifically, I mistook the node for a node referencing the depopulated village that I was mapping. A mistake on my part.
I discussed this matter of these villages with another local and active user privately as well. I've improved my tagging and started being more specific after such long discussions.
While I understand that OSM policies is to map "What's on the ground", these villages fall under two general categories. 1. demolished but still visible, in an open field (a majority of them). mapping these would be perfectly in line with OSM policy, while using appropriate tags such as "runied:place=village"
2. Some villages have been completely built on top. Mapping these isn't honestly recommended by OSM. My judgement was that having the nodes, with appropriate tag such as "razed:place" or "removed:place" would be useful as these all have comprehensive wikipedia articles, and are points of importance to many, including in academia.
I understand if your recommendation is to not map this second category of villages, and I won't continue with that.

Thank you for your response. It seems that the sources of your import does not consider the current trouth on the ground.
I suggest you
1. Delete all the ruins you added that do not have a presence on the ground.
2. Discuss your future bulk editing and imports in the Israel OSM furum in advance. There are pleanty of sources for historical maps, and the history of the 1948 war in particular. Importing any data to OSM should follow to the OSM rules and guidelines.
