remove undiscussed, automatic addition of transliterated names and IDs to railway stations
What's wrong with ESR codes of railway stations? Are they illegal or where should they be discussed?
Hello, why was this changeset reverted without discussion with local communities?
Question about need of this revert was raised in https://t.me/byosm
a bit strange why removed name:uk here and others https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/2014435619/history
The reason for this revert is that these automated edits have not been - as far as I could see - discussed before. Several users had complained about station names like "123 km" being transliterated/translated into a multitude of languages (e.g. 14 names in https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/3781302157/history) even though we have a clear rule that we don't use name:xx for transliterations/translations.
The ESR code was added by the same undiscussed automated process so I removed it too while I was at it, though I'm happy to reinstate it if the community agrees it is useful.
So why u remove name:uk and leave name:ru here - https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/2014435619/history ? So it should be only name=* tag with native name only. Here in Ukraine we have only one language - Ukranian, so why we have name:ru after revert?
