I fear that all these tags are kind of useless because they are not read by any of our search engines (e.g. Nominatim). Maybe one should separate them into individual nodes inside the building outline.

I understand your concerns, but it's not really feasible with automatic edits (at least for now, until I teach my bot to work with address nodes too). Also, the placement of the nodes is a huge question too. I'm afraid that looking at the nodes people may start thinking that different parts of the building have different addresses, so I don't really agree with placing the nodes arbitrary because it will give a wrong idea. I would prefer some solution that would make it clear that all addresses belong to the whole building, not some parts of it.
