Hello.
You have replaced "route=light_rail" with "route=train+line=light_rail" for routes of Berlin s-bahn. This is serious change that affects routing and public transport software. Have you discussed this change with community? Then I would like to see a reference to this decision.
Meanwhile the user Tobias Zoghaib replaces route=train to route=light_rail in another place (e.g. relation 2548860). Is your and his work coordinated? -

Hello azakh,
First I have replaced the route=light_rail
Tag to route=train, line=light_rail because in the osmi showed them as an error. So I checked the tagging in Karlsruhe for light rails, where the other scheme is used. The siputed tag is also present in the german wiki:
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Tag:route%3Dlight_rail
I know that this annotation is not in the english wiki, but Berlin lies in Germany so I thought that this wiki entry is more relavant.
Second I don't see why this should affect routing and public transport software. In Berlin there are also trains which are part of the public transport and you should keep them always in mind if you want the fastest routing. This tagging with route=train should therefore give the same results or your software is broken.
What the other user changes in Hannover doesn't affect me because I am interested in the public transport situation in Berlin and Brandenburg. If he thinks that the tagging is correct it is his opinion. But I want to use the OSMI to check for correctness in all different public transport modes.Happy mapping,

route=light_rail is not valid PTv2 but route=train is. Therefore, I do not object the changes by Balgofil.
However, I would like to note that Berlin S-Bahn cannot be compared with Karlsruhe Stadtbahn. Berlin S-Bahn is a normal train with an alternative type of power supply because it was electrified about 100 years ago. In Karlsruhe, light rail trains use both normal train tracks and tram tracks. Public transport is difficult to understand for non-Germans. Please let us do the things. We know how to do it. :-)

Nakaner,
if route=light_rail is not valid transport mode, then can I remove station=light_rail from railway=station objects, at least along route=train routes? I suppose the route mode and its stations mode must coincide. -

Hi azakh-world,
station=* is not part of Public Transport version 2 tagging schema. Please don't mix infrastructure and services on it in your mind!
There is no "light_rail" for the services mapped as route relations but there is a valid "light_rail" value for mapping the infrastructure. station=* refers to the infrastructure, not to the services. For the same reason, we tag tram stops in Karlsruhe as tram stops, not as stations although route=train relations use them as well.
Best regards
Michael
