just pointing out that the lines you deleted may have been address interpolation lines.

Sorry I thought they were powerlines.
How does one view the original data to check?

You can view the changesets in the area here
http://simon04.dev.openstreetmap.org/whodidit/?zoom=14&lat=-35.35101&lon=149.22735&layers=BTTThen select the square that has the changeset and select the [A] for that changeset and you will go to this page

When you click or mouse-over the red lines and the two nodes at the right end you will see the tags used.
Using JOSM, I can revert the changeset if you like and then it will be back as it was earlier instead of drawing it all again. -

Ah thats handy, yes it does look there was an address tag in it. Can you please revert it?
