http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/5294212 is (as I understand) a single university that consists of multiple disjoint parts.
In such case multipolygon is good enough to represent this situation.
And as multipolygon relation is widely supported and generally a standard solution - it is much better than exotic relation with minimal support and surprising for people editing or processing OSM data.
