Hello dominique lacour,
parts of this edit look quite suspicious. A Monument in the desert (Mapping the location accurate shouldn't be possible with Maps.me) and a Campsite that doesn't appear to be present on aerial imagery and viewpoints quite far away from roads.
@dominique lacour can you please confirm that your additions are really legit and this is not a maps.me trash edit.
I currently tend to reverting this edit in one week.
Best regards

Hi !
There's little details on the map of Saudi Arabia.
I am planning to go there, that's why I add these marks.
It's a compilation of a very recent archeological book I have bought. Names and locations are given on it. I'm quite confident of the quality and accuracy of the information. Its name in french : "Alula, merveille d'Arabie". Authors : institut du monde arabe, Royal commission for AlUla.
Hope that can help,Dominique.

Unfortunately the copy right terms of books almost nerver permit copying data to OpenStreetMaps. Its only allowed to add data verified on the ground or from sources that explicitly allowed data transfer to OSM.
That means that all data you copied from the book needs to be romoved from OSM.
But you didn't only map in Saudi Arabia. Have you been to all the viewpoints you added and verified them on the ground? And does this campsite (1) in GB really exist in this location?
Best regards

Hello
sometimes people misunderstand a feature of apps like maps.me. Quite frequently we find uploads to the public database that were meant to be personal notes within the app. Places to visit or visited. Things like that.
It's OK to make these notes based on Books or whatever source you like but please never save these personal notes to the public database of OSM.
Changes to the database of OSM are only allowed using information gathered in person, or using sources that explicitly allow their usage in OSM.
Please keep that in mind in the future, especially when using apps like maps.me, organic maps, ...
To edit the map I'd suggest using a proper editor like the one built into the website on osm.org or maybe Go Map (that's iOS) or vespucci (that's android).happy mapping

Hello,
Well it seems that I had made a mistake.
Yes I have used this campsite in UK, BUT it should be a personal mark, note a public one. Please delete it.
What I don't understand, it's how to change this from maps.me. It seems to me, that before, I can decide to put in public domain or not. Now it's seems to be automatic... I don't know why and how to change it.
Thanks for your help,Dominique.

About others marks in Scotland: yes I go there recently (August 22) and yes they're nice belvederes but there is nowhere to park your car. So I think it's not really a good idea to promote these places. Please delete them from the database.
I'm really sorry for the work I gave you.
If you understand why I had made theses mistakes, and how to change my parameters of maps.me please tell me.
I will be nice if I can contribute to openstreetmap when I think it's really necessary, but most often just keep my personal marks for myself.
Thanks for all,Dominique.

Yes, editing with Maps.me is really confusing. I tried it my self once and decided that it's to dangerous (can break OSM data) and unpredictable.
If you want to contribute to OSM I would recomend using the ID editor (just go to the osm.org website and klick on edit). To avoid uploading stuff to the OSM database with Maps.me I would go to the Maps.me settings and remove the OSM account from the app. Without the account data can't be uploaded to osm.
And for personal nodes Maps.me offers bookmark. But the difference between "set bookmark" and "add a place" is probably easy to miss.
And by the way: There is a furtherdevelopment of Maps.me called OrganicMaps (can be found in the PlayStore). I switched from Maps.me to the new app a year ago.

Before on IOS, there was possible to able/unable access to OSM database. Maybe I'm wrong, but I cannot find how to do it, in Android.
With Maps.me you cannot put a mark if the place isn't define. That's why I define some places... But I doesn't think everyone could see it.
Maybe it's time to change to OrganicMaps...
Thx for your help. -

Hello
Thanks for replying so we could try and help :)
Regarding maps.me and organic maps: according to app analysis, organic maps ist much better for your privacy since it's current version doesn't contain many (any?) trackers and there's no ads. You can even get it from the alternative app store F-droidShould you consider contributing for real don't hesitate to ask for help. There's chats and forums everywhere (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Contact_channels)
Safe travels
