is Bearpaw in bad enough shape to tag is as abandoned? the HSCs in Yosemite have been closed for some similar reasons (high snow years, covid) for quite a while too but they're being maintained. just haven't been through Bearpaw since the fire

The Ranger station seems to be newly built/heavily reconstructed, but all the cabins around are falling apart (there are just skeletons of the buildings, the floor is rugged due to water, ...).
And there is also a table saying that the camp is closed for the 2017 (or 2019?) winter season - and not taken away since.

that sounds normal, the cabins are put up for the summer only. pretty much just a canvas tent with a temporary floor on the permanent foundation.
