Don't you think it is a bit overzealous to use the general access=no, in combination with motor_vehicle=yes, simply to send bikes and pedestrians to the separately mapped cycle path? Why not simply tag foot=no bicycle=no and leave out the general access=no? There is no need to set a general restriction if you are going to cancel it out anyhow with motor_vehicle=yes no?
I know we don't tag for the renderer, but I was looking at the map and thought the Mechelsesteenweg had been closed for works or something, because it had been greyed out... Most renerers will show a road with the general access tagged as a closed road, and ignore the motor_vehicle=yes.
I mean even if you look at the implied values for a motorway it does not even use the general access tag, only the bicycle=no and foot=no tags. ( https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dmotorway , column on the right)
I feel using the general access tag on a road that has the cyclepaths simply mapped next to it is a bit extreme if the simply foot=no bicycle=no achieves the same without marking the entire road as closed.
Waarom niet gewoon foot=no + bicycle=no, en de algemene access=no gewoon weglaten?

( https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dmotorway , column on the right)

My apologies...it is definitely available to motor vehicles ONLY. I was not aware that changing general access to no would prevent the motor vehicle access...shall I change it?
