Thanks! What I’ve done currently is add buildings as points with their names, but it doesn’t seem to display in the default view on osm.org….

I’ve used Keypad mapper (for Android) which seems to work pretty well. But it’s always a pain matching up the numbers to buildings afterwards

Welcome to the OSM community! I’m not quite sure from your entry whether you found the maps or the software lacking… but if you’re looking for an offline mapping app for android I recommend OSMand

Thanks! That’s helpful, and basically the conclusion I came to thinking about it. I’ve been putting in crossings as lines/ways rather than points which is very time consuming and also in hindsight unnecessary!

Also nice to know there’s someone out there reading diary entries - a very encouraging response to my first diary :-)
