Excellent work, there are many problems with GNIS- data entry errors like these, obsolete entries, etc. I particularly like MapRoulette for organizing and working through GNIS nodes that have not been addressed yet (reviewed, converted to ways, etc.). Another place to update the bad coordinates is Wikidata which has many of the GNIS entries imported as well.

Sam’s working hard on getting better USFS mapping on the Klamath, trail groups have been helping out. Some, but not much USGS 3DEP coverage of NW California, which can be some help as well as historic aerial photos (USGS EarthExplorer) like immediately after the 1977 and 1987 fires.

Great work! PublicDomainOSM may eventually provide a means to give feedback to US federal agencies so they improve their public data.

Great job splitting off the harvested area. I would suggest keeping the landuse=forest tag but instead adding a start_date=* to signify the stand origin date. Smaller Plant nurseries are intensively managed areas where tree seedlings are planted for later transplanting to landuse=forest areas.
