UL probably stands for Uppsala länstrafik, that is the local mass transit organisation's internal name.
UL is indeed the public transport network for Uppsala County, but these days they consider it a brand without an unabbreviated meaning. "Centralstationen" is what is signposted at the bus stops; the UL search engine uses "Uppsala Centralstation/Resecentrum". Signs on the train platforms and the SJ search engine use the abbreviated form "Uppsala C". If there's a more established way to encode different names used by different networks, I'd like to hear about it.
I'd seen this notation at some other objects. And currently I don't know about a better notation.
It sounds like a fundamental discussion to find a new proposal.
