I agree. I can see some argument for keeping some tagging - but it would need to make clear that this is an extinct volcano. I like volcano:status=extinct. I'd suggest that the full natural=volcano tag might be removed - this would leave information recorded without any risk of confusion. Secondly - the name 'Castle Rock' definitely isn't the volcano's name. It's the name of the rock only.
There may be a case for tagging Arthur's Seat as an (extinct) volcano but I think Castle Rock is just a plug, not a volcano. The old tagging made more sense to me.
