Reviewing my own note and it occurs to me to state clearly that I'm not suggesting that anything should be copied from these maps given that they will be copyright!
I use the bridge several times a week, and have been updating the mainline, Ferrytoll Roundabout and the connecting roads as work progresses.
I'm told (27Oct) that the E-W cycle route now follows the north part of the 'Ferrytoll Gyratory' rather than the south part.
Have updated some more of the roads around the bridge openign so at least everything is linked correctly for now. I have set the old bridge and link roads as "Under contruction" until it opens up properly in october. - I propose that we don't worry about tracking the 6 day swap back - unless any one thinks this is worthwhile. tms13 - I would appreciate it if you could check things over if you get a chance.
Sounds sensible to leave it as it is, wouldn't want a gps app to come along and do their monthly data update during the 6 day switch. Let's hope some people upload GPS traces to confirm the bridge route!
I have tickets to walk across on Sunday so will get some kind of GPS trace then!
I agree with your reasoning Chris.
(Jealous of you having tickets.)
I agree with Chris; I wasn't planning to track the swap. I use the bridge daily for work, so I've been tracking changes, but today's photos are behind the weekend roads backlog (I got diverted due to the A832 being washed away, so had a chance to call in at a few villages off the A831 and survey them).
And I'm also jealous of you having tickets. I'm going to England for the weekend to avoid all the smug people!
I got some more traces this morning (traffic much lighter than yesterday), so I'll realign the non-motorway section when I get in from work. Also noted the emergency phones, so I'll add them, too.
I've read that the Forth Road Bridge is back open for limited bus services.
Yes I agree. It may be time to show the road again as open?
I updated the speed limit when it was raised to 50 mph - I think the final change is due around New Year, when motorway regulations and a 70 mph speed liimt will mark the end of construction on the Queensferry Crossing.
Motorway regulations now in force (and mapped). I think we're done here! The only outstanding task (I didn't know how to tag) is that motorcycles under 125cc may use A9000 FRB.
tms13 just beat me to it - I've also opened the PTC roads joining back down to the A90 on the South side (based on discussions with some driving collegues).
I also think we can remove the contruction area to the South.
I've asked on osm irc how people would tag access for 125cc bikes.
I fixed the typo ("150cc"); has anybody checked the final speed limits on A9000? Some parts still say 40 + proposed 50.
Thanks - I don't know about speed limits on the A9000 - I might try and see if the bridge twitter has any info.
Also I belive we can remove the construction area.
@TheForthBridges on twitter confirmed speed limit of 50mph on Bridge. I suspefct the linking roads will be 60.
Also noticed that
X60
X59
and A90 routes all need some attention.
I've observed (and tagged) 50mph signs on the A90 links at Scotstoun. The southern construction area near Echline Junction has gone from the map, but at least some of the northern one (in particular, the compound accessed from A904 near the Buillyeon Road junction) is still in use, and probably will be until project completion in Autumn 2018.
Closing this off - I think it's all done. I've not yet checked the notes on the Old Crossing speed limits, so leaving that open for the moment.
