Didn't spot the other one to check, but it's not a big issue if it happens: it'll just cause a false-positive QA error. Some townlands are split in two parts (and mapped as a multipolygon), but it seems unlikely that far appart.
Yeah, map it as it shows on the old map sheets. Often you will have a townland cut in 2 as it could be split by civil parish boundaries so one townland could be in 2 different civil parishes
