it's a well known location for wikimapia style mapping of everything that ever existed, to get it to show on osmorg. feel free to retag, but I doubt it will last
Why should no longer existing/operating objects show on osm.org? For preserving the information the disused: or abandoned: tag prefixes can be used so that specialized maps can show if they want. But barely any map/app will recognize to which feature the disused/abandoned tags apply (even both used at once, which is invalid), e.g. when a building and a shop is tagged on the same outline.
Yes, using disused/abandoned=yes but even osm.org style does not seem to recognize it and this looks like a properly working city, which it probably isn't. If you support this style, can you point to a bug report for the osm.org style to support this schema?
I am not touching Pripyat with a ten foot pole, but retagging it all with lifecycle prefixes would make sense. There won't be a bug report on carto, because we all know how difficult it is to push changes to carto
I watch carto reports and it is possible to do changes if they have support. If you already had such a report (to support disused=yes) and it was rejected, then probably it does not have as much support from developers or mappers. Also the wiki says it is discouraged.
Hi Marci_, how is the report solved? If you say that support for disused=yes is not coming, then the data in OSM is still wrong and the Note is unsolved.
