It's possible this section of the path is slightly too far North.
According to West Sussex PROW it goes directly from the confluence of paths and bridleways to the east and to the gate to the west.
The OSM path is from my GPS log - I presume I followed the most visible path on the surface through the forest.
It might well be wrong, I don't know. I saw a sign that said it was private and there was another sign on a tree saying CCTV was in operation. Next time we go I'll double check. That won't be till spring though.
One year later. It appears to be open again but sign says NO HORSE RIDERS.
It may have been closed due to work being done. I have seen other paths blocked but it is explained work is being done. Health and safety thing I guess.
So does that mean this can be resolved?
Yes.
It has been resolved
