“I was surprised by the homework of the artificial intelligence, as a really well-structured novel lies before us. However, it still has a number of problems that prevented it from winning the grand prize. For example, the characters are not fully revealed. There is still some research to be done by the developers to solve such a problem,” science fiction writer Hase Satoshi said at the contest’s press conference.

Developers at Hakodate University of the Future, where the novel was created, have not yet disclosed the algorithm of artificial intelligence. It is only known that the details of the plot, the characteristics of the characters and the words and phrases used were originally set for writing the work.

Not so long ago, Yandex and Google specialists conducted active research aimed at teaching the machine poetry. The service “Yandex.Autopoet”, which was created in December 2013, has been composing poem lines based on user requests and news headlines for several years. For this purpose, the robot was specially trained to identify verse sizes and rhyme lines with each other. You can view the full list of Autopoet’s works by clicking here. One example of his poems (spelling and punctuation preserved): 1. Echoes of the Samara Police, 2. The euro is losing ground, 3. Kursk is threatened by flooding, the dollar continues to fall. 4. Paper writing Service

So far it is possible to consider it a work of art with a great stretch. Google specialists do not shine in this matter either. As noted in our previous issues, in May this year, the artificial intelligence, after analyzing 11 thousand unpublished books, began to write their first literary works. So far, however, they are rather gloomy:

  1. It went silent for a long time.
  2. He was silent for a moment.
  3. It was quiet for a second.
  4. It was dark and cold.
  5. There was a pause.
  6. Now it was my turn.

Music and visual art.

Scientists are trying to explore the possibilities of artificial intelligence in all areas of human creativity. In May of this year, Google even launched a special project called Magenta, whose main goal is to explore the creative possibilities of the neural network. Scientists plan to master the wisdom of the creative process gradually: first, an algorithm will be developed to create musical works. Then it will be the turn of video and visual art. Data on the results of the work are planned to be placed in the public domain on GitHub. *openstreetmap *crowdfunding
