Campo Grande is a desert!

I have never heard about OSM until last week when Foursquare adopted its data as a source for their maps. My city, Campo Grande, the capital of a Brazilian state has - or at least had - little information available.

So now I'm doing the job of mapping the city, cause it's almost a million people living here and thousands of visitors walking around and it's a shame not to have maps on Foursquare.

A lot of new avenues have been opened in the last few months so there is no satellite imagery to rely on for those. I'm going to use GPS to map that. If anyone from my region is reading this know that I'm on it. All the recently built roads around the city's streams will be mapped in the following days.

Location: Cohasmat, Amambaí, Campo Grande, Microrregião de Campo Grande, Mesorregião Centro Norte de Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul, Central-West Region, 79005-150, Brazil

Great job ! Welcome to OSM.
I wish you to find mapping friends in your neighbourhood soon.
Bringing new contributors like is the best present that Foursquare can make to OSM community.

Just one comment : are you sure that so many roads actually do deserve the "primary" status ? It should be limited to roads involved in interstate traffic, more or less

Most roads I changed to primary were categorized as trunk or motorway which is way wrong. So I changed those to primary. I'll take a look at other cities to see which is the better way to do it. Thanks for the tip!

Now _that_ is the attitude to have.

My prediction is you will enjoy mapping more than you did 4sq.

Welcome to OSM!
To support you I've mapped the Vila Boas district using Bing imagery :-)
By the way, be careful, I've noticed that in some areas many ways were doubled. I've tried to clean them up whenever I found one but there might be more.

Have fun!
