This node is in Portland, but you added an address in Kennebunk? Is the node in the wrong place or is the address wrong?

I wish you had commented on my changesets. I had a mistyped preset and I've been pasting this all over. I'm going to go back and review everything I've touched. Thanks for finding and fixing.

I did some fixing in change 87206480. Looking at your other change message, it looks like you put the street name on the start and end nodes of the street, but it should be on the line. I see now that you tried to use addr:street=residential to say it was a street, that should have been highway=residential. Please don't be discouraged, and ask if you have questions. Have a nice day, -Alex

Another address deletion (NODE: 7539063590). Please move address tags to the buildings you add when deleting an address node.

It looks like you deleted an address (NODE: 7289185653) and made a building in it's place but you didn't put the address details on the building. This makes it so no one can get there using the address. I've fixed it, but please be careful to put the address information on a building when deleting addresses.

Welcome to OSM and thanks for working on the map. In this edit, you turned this road into a line (meaning that cars can't go here any more) by removing the highway:residential tag. Please put it back, or let me know if you need help.

Welcome to OSM and thanks for the Scarborough road edits, they look great. I hope you've found the wiki (wiki.osm.org) and the slack channel (slack.openstreetmap.us/) which is a good place to ask questions or get a feel for what's going on.

Thanks for adding this building and taking the address data from the address node. Any time you do this, feel free to delete the address node, since the building serves the purpose but better.

Looks like you're turning all the roads in a neighborhood into private roads? Looking at streetview, I don't see any gate, no trespassing sign, etc. Why did you make them private unclassified?

I've been looking for a reliable source for speed limits. I'm curious where you get yours?

Is there any way to filter out the source tags? Do you see any value in having them?

I'm curious why you're adding tiger tags to the roads you're adding. Like way/810024756

Thanks for responding and clarifying local knowledge. Maine roads are pretty bad in OSM and I'm glad you're fixing street names.

I'm about to start working on roads also and I'm putting together some notes for myself (or anyone else). If you're interested in being part of a collaborative project aimed at improving routing in Maine, I'm looking for folks to work with, hoping the results might be more consistent if there is some communication between mappers.

For the record, the gazeteer would be problematic as a reference for copyright reasons. If this doesn't make sense let me know, I'm happy to clarify.

I just checked a data source I trust (from the state of maine government) and it stays this road is "Fish Lake Road" for way/173386358 and the east half of way/173386357. After that (westward) it agrees with the name you've given it. Do you have a data source, local knowledge, or maybe you found a street signs?

86097852 over 5 years ago

Are you sure about the road name? I couldn't find any street signs but the business at the east end (node/7367615870) has a website (https://www.mainewoodscompany.com/) which gives "Fish Lake Road" for their address.

Welcome to OSM!

It looks like you requested a review of your edits so I wanted to let you know that they look like great contributions to the map so far. I just finished adding all of the address nodes in Maine. Don't be afraid to merge the address nodes with your new buildings (use SHIFT to select both, right click, Merge). This will delete the node and put the address tags on the building. The nodes are just a place-holder until someone makes a building. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have questions.

Happy mapping,
-Alex

Welcome to OSM and thanks for your contributions!
I just finished adding all of the address points in the state of Maine, and many didn't land directly on the building (as you've found). When drawing a building and using the details from an address node (As you've done) feel free to delete the address node (or use the combine button which does this for you).
I tell you this in case you get hooked, and want to do more of this.
Also, I'm slightly dismayed that the zipcode was wrong. Thanks for fixing it.

I've seen you add `inner=yes` to ways which are an inner member of a relation. I don't think the tag serves any purpose, as the membership's role is what provides the geometry. Am I missing something?
