Already made much Edits when OSM Error Appears

Posted by backpacking philippines on 25 March 2011 in English (English)

was editing parts of Cainta, adding roads from Bing and upgrading roads to effect proper routing when the dreaded error appeared (blank screen with the exclamation mark on Potlatch 2)...

I wasn't able to save, hitting S didnt' work, as i've pretty much traced mostly residential roads plus some major roads around countryside, midtown subdivisions et al...

just call it a day...i'll redo if i find myself not feeling lazy :(

i'm going there to cainta again tonight for a friend's birthday and will just obeserve missing roads on OSM

You know the universal advice: Use JOSM :)
And good luck!

When you say the "dreaded error" - what do you mean? What happened, and do you know what you did to cause it? I've never encountered that in P2.

But please, save early, save often. :)

Addendum: Use Merkaartor

Use Potlatch 2, JOSM AND Merkaartor to suit whatever you are trying to do. They all have their strengths. Saving your work is best done as a little and often.

Sometimes it helps to wait a few minutes, then hit c (close changeset). Maybe there will be another error (couldn't close changeset). But now you probably can save your edits again. If not, try this a second time.
