Embassies worldwide now with country code

Posted by Serpens on 29 March 2009 in English (English)

Last days I tagged embassies worldwide with ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes (--> Links):

An example, the US Embassy in Berlin:

amenity=embassy
*** country=us ***
addr:city=Berlin
...

Before this OSM had 362 embassies, 320 without correct country code. Now there are 376 embassies and only 7 without correct country codes.

Oh, so that's why I see your edits to the embassies in my area. :-)

Any particular reason why you changed the from_country tag to just country?

"from_country" was my own proposal...

Much more users used "country" so I changed too. In the end it is technically very simple to change that back but to add ANY country code wasn't that simple (1,5 days for me).
