from the runway on the north island, the numbers on the runways help you name them.

The south west corner of the south island looks like a residential or resort area.

From a bit of googling, the northern one appears to be a private airstrip

Hmm, how do we know these exist except from Google Maps. If that is how we found out about them then we're deriving this data from Google. Doesn't seem like a good idea for me. Let alone using Google Maps to name the runway.

GNIS does have names for islands in this part of the Gulf. According to Birding UAE both islands are private without access. One of them may still be a breeding site for the Socotra Cormorant.

I originally found them on LandSat data I downloaded from GLOVIS. I just put up a google link to ask people about them. I didn't plan on using google for names or geometry in the creation of data. I was just wondering about the names. Thanks to all who responded.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runway on how runways are named.
So if you have some free imagery of the the south one, you can measure the name with a anglefinder :-)

I was looking for official names of the airports/ airstrips, not the actual runway numbered names. Sorry about the confusion ;)
