I made a Taginfo instance for South Korea

Posted by LuxuryCoop on 8 November 2020 in English (English)

Taginfo for South Korea main page

The URL is http://taginfo.openstreetmap.pe.kr/. I want to set my site’s domain taginfo.openstreetmap.kr, but can’t because someone already has openstreetmap.kr domain.

The map in Taginfo

The above picture is the map in Taginfo for South Korea.

anyway, I’m using a hosting server paid $5, so can’t automatically update the OSM data daily. Instead, I manually process the OSM data on my desktop, and upload the result data via FTP. So I might forget it occasionally…

If I have plenty of time, I also want to upload how to build my instance detailed.

Great!

I also want to upload how to build my instance detailed.

That’d definitely be useful for people who want to create their own (perhaps for a region that doesn’t have one already?).

One question though - the tag cloud at http://taginfo.openstreetmap.pe.kr/ looks very different to the one at https://taginfo.geofabrik.de/asia/south-korea - is updating that a separate step?

@SomeoneElse Uhh… I don’t know why it is. I just download the OSM data from geofabrik, and don’t edit settings that (probably?) affect the cloud. Rather, The other countries’ Taginfo(e.g. Japan) cloud also many different, was the setting file for geofabrik’s Taginfo modified?

Anyway, I didn’t know the geofabrik’s Taginfo site. And I find that the site has not been posted at WeeklyOSM sufficiently. (indirectly mentioned at #494, #501) How about posting the site at WeeklyOSM?
