Tracks von Portalen als Vorlage für OSM

Hello,

(I will answer in English because my German in writing is not very good.)

I am the original author of (some of) the changesets dealing with the EV14. See below the explicit permission of the ECF for the use of these GPS tracks in OpenStreetMap.

Also note that “Leider ist der Urheberschutz/Copyright manchen Mappern ziemlich egal.” is not true (and partially offensive), although I could have investigated the copyright issues better beforehand.

Kind regards, Hidde

Original email (2020-11-08):

Hello,

I would like to thank you for the great work on promoting cycling in Austria. The routes are well thought out and also (mostly) well signed on the ground.

With this email I would like to ask permission to use the GPS tracks of the EuroVelo routes in OpenStreetMap. OpenStreetMap provides map data for thousands of web sites, mobile apps, and hardware devices, and allows widespread use of cycling routes across the world. For example the Cycle Map is built on the OpenStreetMap data and makes cycling routes better discoverable.

The Imprint states that there is copyright on the GPS tracks. They cannot be used without explicit consent of the ECF. With your permission, usage in OpenStreetMap would become possible.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Kind regards, Hidde Wieringa

Hello Hidde,

of course, you can use our GPS tracks in OpenStreetMap.

You can find them on our website www.eurovelo.at under the interactive “scribble map”, there are GPX and KLM datas.

On OpenStreetMap/Cycle Map I can find EuroVelo 6,7 and 9, but not EV 13 and also not the new EV 14.

Kind regards,

Hannes
