Additionally, his communication skills were tested as a specialist with the Urban Search and Rescue California Task Force 4, where he played a crucial role in managing communications during various national disasters.

His leadership was further exemplified as Division/Group Supervisor on a Type 3 Incident Management Team. Here, Gerald managed complex emergency responses to hurricanes and wildfires nationwide. His handling of critical incidents, such as the 1989 Oakland Firestorm and the 1991 Loma Prieta Earthquake, highlighted his ability to lead under pressure and make pivotal decisions that saved lives and property.

Gerald is an avid adventurer and fitness enthusiast outside of his professional life. His passion for the outdoors drives him to engage in hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. These pursuits not only provide him with physical challenges but also mental rejuvenation. Additionally, He participates in off-road motorcycle racing, a hobby that tests his endurance and satisfies his competitive spirit.
