Dr. James McInnis possesses a wide array of certifications and licenses, including the MCC (Medical Council of Canada Licensure), a Commissioned Rank as Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Navy with service number D66 403 377, a C.C.F.P. (Canadian College of Family Physicians) certification. He has been promoted to Lieutenant (N) within the Royal Canadian Navy.

Throughout his illustrious career, he has been the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Prince Edward Island Top Medical Student Scholarship, the Burke Certificate for Excellence in Family Medicine, a research assistantship focused on the impact of Prolia in treating Osteoporosis, a Special Citation for Meritorious Service from the Canadian Armed Forces, a C.M.E. Research Presentation on “Physicians in the Military,” and an Honorable Discharge from active military service.

In academia, he has held several influential positions, such as Associate Professor at Dalhousie University in the Department of Biological Laboratory Studies, Senior Post Graduate Clinical Instructor at McMaster University, and Senior Professor and Evaluator at the Canadian Forces School of Physician Assistants located in C.F.B. Borden, Ontario.

His service in the Canadian Armed Forces spanned nine years as a Lieutenant (N), during which he remains an active Class B reservist for the Royal Canadian Navy. His roles have included serving as a medical officer for Canadian soldiers both domestically and on international deployments, participation as a member of the Disaster Assistance Response Team (D.A.R.T.) in Operation PLATEAU, roles as a consultant in bio-terrorism medicine, and as a special consultant and liaison to the Canadian Medical Association.
