Born in Florida on July 31, 1980, Cory Simmons, an Atlanta Attorney, attended Florida State University, earning a Bachelor’s in Philosophy and Theater. Cory was actively involved in leadership programs and earned the Florida Bright Futures Scholar distinction for his academic achievements.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Cory pursued his law degree at Florida Coastal School of Law. There, he quickly established himself as a top student, excelling academically and developing a passion for the legal field. Cory was a Moot Court Honor Board member and participated in mock trial competitions, which helped him hone his public speaking and legal argumentation skills. He won the National Moot Court Competition in 2005 and earned the Best Oralist award in the Prince Evidence Competition in 2006.

After earning his Juris Doctor in 2007, Cory Simmons began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida. He worked on various cases, from misdemeanors to serious felonies, and led 18 trials, securing 12 guilty verdicts. This experience gave him valuable knowledge of case management, trial preparation, and courtroom procedure.

In 2009, Cory transitioned into civil litigation, joining The Law Offices of Robert Shafer & Associates as a Senior Associate. He represented clients in various civil cases, including criminal defense, civil forfeitures, and personal injury claims. Cory later moved to Baumann, Gant & Keeley, P.A., where he worked on professional liability and construction defect cases.

In 2016, Cory joined Morgan & Morgan P.A. as a Lead Attorney and Partner in the Business Trial Group. He led the firm’s commercial litigation efforts in North Florida and Georgia, handling high-stakes business disputes, including breach of contract and securities litigation. His success in these cases earned him several accolades, including “Attorney of the Year” in 2015.

In October 2024, Cory Simmons became Managing Partner at Spizzirri Law, LLC, a boutique commercial litigation firm in Metro Atlanta. As Managing Partner, he oversees the firm’s operations and leads complex business litigation cases.

Outside of his legal career, Cory Simmons enjoys volunteering with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and participating in local events such as McKenzie’s Run 5K. He enjoys hiking and playing softball, maintaining a balanced life. Cory Simmons remains dedicated to his career and community.
