Group of buildings imported in Boscoreale, Italy

Posted by Chetan_Gowda on 17 June 2016 in English. Last updated on 20 June 2016.

I noticed buildings imports back in February 2016 which were having building=yes tag for all building nodes. Have captured the details here.

OSM user: geopeppe imported all these buildings and after my message, he cleaned unnecessary tags on nodes but now only exists are:

  • Group of buildings instead of individual buildings.
  • Missing source of the data.
  • The missing documentation of the import.

I’d like to inform the community of Italy about this import and take next actions towards clean up or right documentations.

Location: Massa, Boscoreale, Naples, Campania, 80042, Italy

thank you for your notice, your diary post has been cited on the Italian mailing list and currently we are verifying the issue.

Imports have to follow the import guidelines, most notably, they have to be discussed before they are executed. The usual remedy for a non-discussed import is not to open a Mapbox ticket to have it cleaned up, but to revert it altogether and then give the community a chance to discuss whether they even want this data, whether license is ok, the data quality is good, and so on.

Do you have any results now? … Because the buildings still exist on the map after 11 months. So is his source now clear or why has this import not been reverted?

Really we should ping one more time to Italian community. Probably @dieterdreist answer to this.
