Ali Can Ergur graduated from Turkey’s Bilkent University with a Bachelor of Arts in Law, earning him a spot on the list of the best universities in the country. The University of Pennsylvania Law School welcomed Ergur to Philadelphia after his graduation from Bilkent University’s Bilkent School of Law. In 2014, he earned his master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

While at Penn, Ergur received a certificate from Wharton’s Law and Business Program.

With almost eight years of legal expertise under his belt, Ali Can Ergur, 31, is a rising star in the industry.

The following positions appear in Ergur’s resume:

YHAS’s senior attorney (2020-2021). Aside from overseeing the firm’s M&A and joint venture initiatives across eight different countries, Ergur’s duties as in-house legal counsel in Istanbul covered everything from negotiating purchase contracts to writing term sheets. He also provided advice on banking and financing arrangements.

An Associate at Baker McKenzie (2015-2019). On behalf of buyers and sellers across the world, Ali Can Ergur worked as an Associate Attorney in the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure and Private Equity practice areas. She drafted several analyses and papers on a wide range of topics, including private and public company sales.

Trainee lawyer at White & Case LLP (2012-2013). Before becoming a tax attorney, Ergur’s early work included producing due diligence reports and closing documents, as well as a variety of lawsuits and appeal petitions in connection with more than 250 tax litigation cases.

Ali Can Ergur was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1990. He is a Turkish national. He was an exchange student in Canada from 2007 to 2008. Ergur enjoys jazz guitar and building plastic scale models in his spare time.
