Akshay Garud is an exemplary student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering with a minor in Computer Science and is expected to graduate in 2025. Notably, he has contributed to groundbreaking research at Gritton Lab at UIUC, focusing on the neural responses of mice in AI-generated mazes. He has interned at TrussHealth, a startup utilizing AI to enhance remote patient monitoring, where he developed web applications and conducted API testing. His previous experience at Base Pair Inc. involved him in bioinformatics, developing RNA-seq data processing pipelines, and analyzing genomic data.
