Note that the visitor centre is fairly well maped (in Ballycroy town, further south on the n59). It's the park's boundary we don't have.
As usual the problem is in getting the park's boundaries from a compatibly-licensed source. The park's website has CC-BY 4.0 photos, but says nothing about the boundary map. We need to contact them to sort out the license issue.
A quick check shows that the boundaries mostly follow natural features, so we could work from a fairly low-res source.

How about this as a source from the Environmental protectionn agency??

Only "story map" is on data.gov.ie

Should I add this to the Wiki list?
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ireland/Open_Data
Do we need to get explicit permission for the boundary data?
I made a request to have this added to data.gov.ie
Response:
"The Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht has advised that the National Parks boundary datasets are currently being reviewed as part of an on-going NPWS Property Management project. The boundaries will be released on a Park-by-Park basis as they are finalised - to speed up release. It is planned to release the first of the boundary datasets as Open Data sets to data.gov.ie by Q3 this year in line with the NPWS Open Data Policy https://www.npws.ie/maps-and-data/open-data-policy - Open Data Unit 22/2/2017"
Getting there :) Thanks for following this up. Might be worth updating http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ireland/Open_Data if you didn't already.
It's time to have a crack at this again. We now have open data and a new name for this national park:

I can attempt to make the changes, but I'm a bit rusty and would appreciate help, especially if it comes to imports, shapefiles or complex relations.
