I guess this isn't an issue with osm?
Because generally we don't have elevation data inside.
Elevation contours are normally taken from another source. All the paths here are aligned with the satellite imagery.
But I agree, something is definitively wrong.
That's data from the SRTM and we can't fix it from OSM. You need to contact NASA.
