Unresolved note #367913
Description
The actual route was initially intended to use a tunnel that goes under Lake Otis which must be approached by bicycles from the South on the East side of the road. Once on the west side of Lake Otis, one must then ride North a block to 47th. Most people today ride North over the creek to a point opposite East 47th Court and then cross Lake Otis, which is unsafe. There is an on-road bike trail designation on East 47th Court, and the trail head is to be found at the end of the Court.

I think the map now accurately depicts where the bike trail crosses lake otis and continues on the west side through 47th Ave.
marking resolved.
No, the map does not accurately reflect where the bike trail crosses Lake Otis.
The Fact of the matter is that the MOA considers the trail to run South along Lake Otis to the tunnel at 50th. See, e. g. http://www.muni.org/Departments/OCPD/Planning/AMATS/Documents/TrailwatchMap.pdf . One can then proceed down Waldron Dr to the school and pick up the trail North of the School.
There is NO crossing at 47th marked or designated and the intersection can be extremely dangerous. Some MOA Bike maps (notoriously bad) argue a crossing at the corner of 48th, but again, there is no crossing marked and the intersection is very dangerous.

There are no details to add on street crossing in this note.
The route is still not defined, so detail is still needed. I have suggested a route that (from east to west) goes south on Folker, west on 52nd, and north to the tunnel ramp (avoiding the approach from the north where the stairs are. On the west side of Lake Otis one can use Waldron to the connectors to Cache (bypassing Bartlett Dr), and then use the connector at the end of Cache to connect to the Campbell Creek Trail, or use the grassy path just south of Dimond Dr.
With respect to a bike route through existing infrastructure, I suppose we should have a note marker at 47th Ct, at 48th, and at the tunnel south of Misty Ct. I initially just put the one note in to try to cover the entire mess.
