Please don't blatantly delete bilingual name tags, as this is the valid tagging schema in Slovenia.
Please see https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Multilingual_names#Slovenia
Please, be so kind and revert this and other similar changesets as soon as possible.
If you want to discuss it to are welcome to join us in the OpenStreetMap forum topic:
I'd love to hear the reasoning behind this change and what other similar erroneous changes were done in the area.
On osmose.openstreetmap.fr (http://osmose.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/?#zoom=13&lat=46.8262&lon=16.3112&item=xxxx&level=1%2C2%2C3&tags=&fixable=), the state-of-the-art quality assurance tool this name was shown as a mistake, because 2 names were in the fi
But I do not see any collision with bilingual names (which also occurs all over the world), because - as you can proof by your own - I have just splitted the name into a HUN and a SLO name. So now, you can simply built the bilingual name (e.g. which is diplayed on openstreetmap.org) by a database requested of name:hu/name:si for example.
I have only revised the name of Hodos, although I have splitted the name to its country-specific names.
Please stop doing that. I am well aware of the tagging schema and that some validators detect false problems with some local specialities. Please raise the issue with osmose. Removing the name tag is not a valid solution.
I have only devided the name of Hodos into name:sl and name:hu. For no other village/hamlet/city I did this.
Yes and with this change all the street names disappeared from Hodos village. The name tags cannot be deleted and has to contain both the Slovenian first and the Hungarian name second. Even if the validator shows as a mistake, this is not a mistake so I would also like to kindly ask you the change back every name tag in Hodos. Thank you.
Thank you JM82 for the explanation. Tags name:sl and name:hu already existed before and name tag contained both names, combined with a "/", as "on the ground" place signs.
It would not be the first time that validation tools wrongfully complain about some uncommon issue. This is why there are some exceptions in the source code of the check - see https://github.com/osm-fr/osmose-backend/blob/master/plugins/Name_Multiple.py
I have reverted this changeset with https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/84472451
If you think the name tags are wrong there please let's discuss it on the OSM forum https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=785118#p785118
Thanks for not doing it in other places and please refrain from doing so in the future without discussing it first with local community.
