Peak i Nordøstgrønland
This is one of 9 change sets introducing base geographical names for North Eastern Greenland. For more information see http://www.xoz.dk/public/nordost/
Now we have two "Petermann Bjerg" on the map: Yours (https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/6344916343) and an older one (https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/2059718202). Please check what you are doing.
I have imported the official coordinates for peaks. Do not know where the other came from...
And the officially registered elevations.
I haven't looked at your changes, I just noticed this particular mountain. If you import something, you have to check before that you don't create duplicate data. Is this an import according to the import guidelines https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Guidelines, or are you doing something else?
Another thing: What is Dôme du Trappeur? https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/6344919012#map=6/71.824/-18.523 It's 2500 m high, but it look's like it's in the middle of the sea.
The database received contained 4635 official points with coordinates. It is no surprise if there are a few typos. There will inevitably be a few such that cannot be verified/corrected against other sources and must therefore be deleted. Any assistance in such is highly appreciated.
This changeset has been reverted fully or in part by changeset 68929617 where the changeset comment is: Reverting undiscussed import in Greenland following reported problems and request from original importer - message said 'And if someone want to delete the whole thing for a better start: Di it. Be my guest. No offence'
Now we do not have a "Petermann Bjerg" anymore. If you know your changes have been reverted, then please revert your own reversions: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/68747344
Yep. It will reappear together with 1200 others. I am in contact with other participators, so everything will be done correctly...
Three months later it still isn't fixed. Guessed so...
Markus: This is summer. Come winter and I shall meticulously revise and suggest some better imports. Only some 10-15 peaks were previously defined in the southernmost part of the vast area and all shall be up for review then.
