Welcome to OSM.
While mapping please keep in mind OpenStreetMap is not here to make things look pretty but for navigating and finding things in the first place.
I have a couple of remarks for some of your edits.1. Drawing sidewalks that do not connect to the roads is a bad idea because it will make navigating a sidewalk a nightmare. Every sidewalk needs to be connected to a road at intersection.
2. Deleting basketball court because it overlaps with a mutli-purpose rink is a bad idea. I had to revert this edit. Someone looking to play basketball will never be able to find such court. If you want to highlight some specific sport played on that rink but there is no obvious court boundaries, you should create a node inside that rink and assign "leisure=pitch", "sport=ice_hockey" for example to it. This way, people will be able to find it.
3. "Leisure=yes" is not a good tag. Needs to be more specific. Refer to wiki for possible values for leisure tag: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:leisure If you want to map a walking area use "Pedestrian street" preset in ID editor. But in general, there is no need to do that.
If you have any specific questions about mapping or want to connect with other mappers in Ottawa join our slack chat. You can find the link here: https://www.osmcanada.ca/about.html
Good luck.
