dear JayCBR,
In this changeset and others you have made some quite sweeping changes to the OSM database. It would be helpful to others if you'd leave a comment when you create a changeset; also consider uploading changes in smaller batches.
Please consult others in the OSM community before making sweeping changes. You're not slowing down to make your case to other mappers, and unfortunately your recent changesets have now been flagged up to the Data Working Group as potential vandalism. I want to assume good faith, but you need to spend time dealing with the community and explaining your edits, or risk being reverted. Again, clearly descriptive comments with large changesets would help *a lot*.

dear zool,
greek osm community is rather small to non-existent
i only managed to find 2-3 other guys and they were also troubled and confused about the greek numbering and classification system
i made a post to the forum with some simple rules so we can discuss
not much happened though in terms of discussionas i understand the problem is with green roads (what is a trunk road really?)
i consulted this:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Highway:International_equivalencehere green roads appear equivalent to motorroads (a motorroad is a highway inferior to motorway but superior than a primary)
the actual example is a divided urban avenue with traffic lights (higher capacity than a normal primary road)
i stated this to my post at the forum and made the changes according to this
(green roads being faster primary routes or divided highways with 2 lanes each )i like things being organized and consistent (i believe my changes are so)
if there is a problem with the green roads i can revert them back to primary -

Hi,
I am well aware that the Greek OSM community is patchy, but I am confident that not all major urban avenues with traffic lights qualify as motor-road. At the time I was only complying with what is recommended on the wiki to respect the existing structure. Your edits took me by surprise, hence my concerns.
Mesogeion Avenue (EO54) is one of the Athens' important thoroughfares, but it is not a motor-road because it isn't one and it doesn't look like one as far as I know. I have no idea how one could just conclude that a section of road is a motor-road just because of the layout.
Ideally, if we followed the classification rules as-is, we would have a structure much like the Netherlands. However, if you feel that the trunk road is seriously underused because of the low number of motor-roads. then I may be able to offer a compromise: I was thinking, just now that we could modernise the hierarchy to something similar to the British system, where National Roads can be either Trunk or Primary, and Provincial Roads can be Primary or Secondary.
However, if we are to settle on a lasting solution to the Greek road classification/numbering issue, we strongly recommend the two people (ea1969 and Stavros86) from SkyscraperCity to join in. These two people would be able to nail down exactly which road is supposed to go where.
Zool asked me this morning where we could unpick the confusion over the Greek road classification system. I would recommend a Wiki page called "Road Classification and Numbering in Greece", and I will happily link it from the project page (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_Greece). I even made a new banner to entice more interest in getting the challenge resolved.
I hope this helps for now. Sorry about forgetting to reply to this but it has been totally chaotic.

Thanks for your response JayCBR, the offer to revert in a few places is generous and may still be necessary. I hope that Amaroussi's effort at a consolidating wiki page proves useful to you. Good luck, both of you!

I will do my best, but at this time I am studying and I may be very busy until mid-June. Sorry in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
