Stretched portion on map in Spain

Posted by jutezak on 4 July 2013 in Dutch (Nederlands)

This looks so horribly wrong... can somebody revert the change that led to this distortion in Almeria?

Afslagen A10/A8 aangepast

Posted by jutezak on 15 December 2012 in Dutch (Nederlands)

Het is way 46590549.

Tevens wat kleinigheden aangepast met de Destination:-tag. Moet nog in sync gebracht worden met wat echt op de borden staat.

Road that is mostly under water

Posted by jutezak on 21 August 2012 in English (English)

'Le Passage du Gois' is mostly under water. During spring tide it can be used from 1:45 before to 1:45 after ebb. At neap tide or bad weather, the recommendenation is only to cross exactly at ebb.

IMO, it is more a touristic attraction than a serious road.

How should this be designated? Tertiary road sounds too important and will draw navigation systems towards it (could be dangerous at night, as there is no barrier, just warning signs).

Attirbutes or separate ways, what is preferred?

Posted by jutezak on 14 January 2012 in English (English)

The 'insulindeweg' http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=52.361195&lon=4.934189&zoom=18&layers=M is similar on the left and right parts. But on the left, the cycleways have been drawn separately, while on the right, they are mapped with 'cycleway=track' and similar attributes.

Easier to edit, but not so good with relations, turn restrictions etc.

Is there a preferred way to do this, depending on situation?

The OSM social network

Posted by jutezak on 3 January 2012 in English (English)

I received a 'friendship request' from a spammer in the e-mail that I registered with OSM.

Is there anything I can do about that? Or, for that way, a way to hide/delete the spam in the diaries?

How to do a crossing you can not make turns?

Posted by jutezak on 14 December 2011 in English (English)

I edited http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=52.348465&lon=4.918406&zoom=18&layers=M

The Wibautstraat / S112 going south is crossing the roundabout, and you are not supposed to turn onto or off the roundabout on the north side - there are other ways to get on or off the roundabout.

I first tried a crossing with turn restrictions, and 2 ways crossing without a bridge is often seen as indicative of an error. But I get a node woth a small traffic sign, and I do not see that often on OSM. So I decided for just having the ways cross without an intersection. Is that the right way?

Agadir

Posted by jutezak on 11 December 2011 in English (English)

I logged some tracks while in Agadir, Morocco.

Nice city to visit, but a lot of mapping still to do!

Dunkerque

Posted by jutezak on 28 September 2009 in English (English)

Today I added car and foot tracks around Dunkerque, France. There is a lot of mapping and quality work to be done there.

GPS traces were made with gpsmid on a Sony-Ericsson C702.

It was just a casual weekend with the GPS on, but I managed to add quite some secondary roads anyway.
