Multiple sports in one area

Posted by halfd on 2 March 2011 in English.

Hello folks,

I've just been adding a few recreational areas to Copenhagen - several of these places are squares with multiple functions, like soccer/basketball/hockey or skateboarding/basketball etc.

I've read about semi-colon value separation and I get the point about choosing the primary function of a given area, but some of these areas are totally a blend.

So should this be a case to use the semi-colons or are there any better ideas?

Keep on mapping!

Roads and their misalignment

Posted by halfd on 2 December 2010 in English.

Hello friends!

When doing some editing today, using the Bing backdrops, I noticed that a lot of roads in Istanbul are really off - see this image if I'm able to attach it:

Is this because of misalignment of the Bing map? Because of sloppy editing?

My fingers are itching to correct these roads (but more with adding what is missing) - any ideas/guidelines on what to do to in this case?

It would be less than fun to move everything, and then realise it was wrong to do.

I'm waiting for some discussion before I start doing any moving of roads.

Happy mapping!

Istanbul

Posted by halfd on 1 November 2010 in English.

I've recently moved to Istanbul and have been doing some mapping around the area where I live.

I had done quite a few roads; adding, naming and extending - when suddenly my laptop's motherboard went *pfump* yesterday :(

Now waiting for possibility to get harddrive into external case, so I can get to my data - and upload the map!

Almost everything else backup'ed or online. Except for my biggest OSM work to date. Hopefully I will have it soon, so I can continue on this great mapping adventure!

Happy Mapping!
