Tarifa

The big problem mapping Tarifa is the old town.
Even my eTrex Vista HCx had really bad reception in the small alleys. The tracks are unusable. And the yahoo-photos are too coarse graind to catch the roads.

That's quite a bad problem. Maybe balloon or kite photography would help?

If you've got the main roads in, and several other roads / references (like a bend in a main road, roundabout, etc), you could use Walking Papers to do an estimated survey of the town. Even better if you use a trundle wheel and a compass ;)

Thanks for the comments.
The walking papers would not help to get the really small roads. They are very labyrinthine.
Walking papers would help to get the shops and cafes, but that would be the next step.
Sure, balloon photography would be great. But I am there only 9 days per year, this is infeasible for me.
My last idea is to ask the local tourist office to allow me to use their old-town-tourist-map for OSM.
