More Changes

Posted by eagsc7 on 8 April 2012 in English.

I’ve taken the last few days to edit and Add to the offroad tracks in my local area. Why is there a 2000 point limit to tracks. This limit should be raised to at least 10000, if not 20,000 for lakes and such. Its frustrating that I have to create lines going right thru the middle of the lake to make it show properly in the OSM viewer…

Many more changes...

Posted by eagsc7 on 5 April 2012 in English.

I took the time off the experiment with JOSM. I don’t know if its more technical, but I Really like Potlatch2 better. Either way, I used it to update some things that I’ve done while the servers here were being updated.

Today, I did some Massive changes. Of course, the Adlobe Plugin CRASHED Three times… twice when saving, and Once when editing. Both Saves look like they went thru before the crash, but my edits was about 70 mins and it didn’t save. As a recommendation, how about a changeset save of just the changes that someone’s working on every 15 mins, like MS Word has that creates a tmp file for just the open changesets. This would allow a user to start back where they left off within a few mins from a crash.

Changes included Blacks Fork, Corrections to Flaming Gorge and MANY Roads changed to tracks, edited and even Firehole Canyon after our 4x4 trip today…

All In Sweetwater County, WY

I did a Bunch of editing. Where do I start?!? Yesterday, I finished Jim Bridger Coal and Power plant areas. From there, I worked my way West to Rock Springs, WY. I corrected the roads in Superior, WY and even put the spur line that serviced the Superior mine. After that, I continued work on Rock Springs, WY.

Today I think I’ve finished Rock Springs, WY! Many more changes of road types and additions were done. Also, I was having so much fun that the timer hit 170 Minutes between saves… Oops. Either way, it went thru.

Tons of fun. Once I get the d/l I willl have more 4x4 tracks to go down!

Another 5 Hours...

Today I concentrated on Railroads… I started with correcting and adding to the Rail trail between Echo, UT and Park City, UT. From there, using satellite imagery, I fixed two spur lines off it.

After that, I shot to Herber Valley RR and corrected their yard/Rail properties. The I started working on the 74 Miles of the North Rock Springs Rail Spur to Atlantic City, WY. While doing that, I started editing the roads to show that they’re really 2-tracks for the most part.

As a Note to anyone traveling thru Wyoming. IF it says Residential Street, and your NOT in a town or city, IT MAY be 4WD passable, only a 2-track, graveled, or even Paved. Of course, it may not even be there either. As you find corrections that should be done, PLEASE make the changes…

This is my 1st entery. Over the last 2 days, I’ve aligned and fixed all streets in Green River Wyoming to Satellite imagery. Also, I’ve fixed and adjusted some of the Railroad tracks to current Railroad lines in the area.

I’ve changed many of the road types that didn’t truly match the current condition within the local area. There were many ‘Residential Roads’ that are really 2-tracks. I’ve also added the Green River Trails system, and the outline of the River that goes thru town.

Also, after a trip to Hams Fork Campground in Bridger National Forest last year I updated the roads in that area as well.
