New housing developments mapped before Teleatlas and Navteq
Posted by daveemtb on 16 November 2009 in English (English)This housing development was recently mapped on OSM, within a month or two of completion. It is still years out of date in Google maps' Teleatlas data:

Or, Yahoo's Navteq data:

The same goes for another development (half completed on the ground)

In Germany, you can find newly built streets in nearly each village:

Have of these new streets have been noticed by a single user. It would be nice if other users would add their newly built streets as well.

This is why OSM is the best map ever (stupid saying but it is true).

FK270673, please feel free to add these streets to that page. My wiki skills aren't great with tables etc. :(

While were at google maps and TeleAtlas bashing, I might as well throw in my example too. This example is not a small little housing estate, but a redevelopment of a major road intersection right in the heart of London just to the east of the city. I think the redevelopment was finished in April and was updated in OSM the next day. Google Maps and Yahoo are still showing the old road layout. I wonder how long it will take them
