rivers in Chile

Posted by bahnpirat on 21 February 2008 in English (English)

After mapping Lake Toya [http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=42.6093&lon=140.8445&zoom=12&layers=B0FT] in Japan where the next Top G8 take palce, I started draw some rivers in Chile south of Osorno ([http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=-40.44&lon=-73.061&zoom=12&layers=B0FT])

Location: -40,640, 73,105

That's strange, I really thought I'd already mapped Lake Toya - i did at least do some others in the area, maybe I missed that one. I just thought I'd mention that the tagging seems a bit strange... it renders ok in osmarender as it is, but I've taken the liberty of making it more standard, so it will work properly with all renderers and other applications that use the data. Please do ask if you aren't sure why i've done stuff, or just change it back :)

The islands in the middle of Lake Toya are just tagged it as landuse=forest (according to http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Mapping/Features/Forest this is for managed forest, by the way, I prefer to use natural=wood for natural forests.)

Regards,

Dave
