a GIS and Data Manager at OpenMap Development Tanzania (OMDTZ) based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania My Journey started as a volunteer mapper in July 2015 with Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team - HOT right after graduating from University of Dar es Salaam. My first professional engagement with HOT was in a project called Ramani Huria, a project based on Community Mapping for Flood Resilience in Dar es Salaam city. During this project, I experienced data collecting using GPS and field papers at different wards affected by Floods across Dar es Salaam. Also experienced in using JOSM editor for cleaning and uploading data to OpenStreetMap as well as remote mapping. I also worked in a project on Malaria Elimination through remote mapping of Many countries such as Zimbabwe, Mozambique, etc.

in 2017, I started to work with OpenMap Development Tanzania - OMDTZ mapping supervisor and continue working on Ramani Huria with the responsibility of training University students on using open source software like JOSM, OpenDataKit, OpenMapKit, QGIS, etc. for data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualizations. Also supervising field data collection for flood resilience in Dar es Salaam city. Also, I have been working on different projects such as Data Zetu (empower citizens through the use of open data), Minigrids, and other projects with the aims of making sure efficiency in data collection, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and sharing through many open source software.

Since 2021, I have been working as a GIS and Data Manager, overseeing all GIS and data-related issues to ensure accurate datasets are created and disseminated to required stakeholders.
