QGIS 3 on Linux Mint

Posted by Polyglot on 10 March 2018 in English (English)

I finally managed to install QGIS 3 on my favourite linux distro. The magic incantation was found here:

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver --recv-key 073D307A618E5811

echo "deb xenial main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/qgis.list

echo "deb-src xenial main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/qgis.list

echo "deb xenial main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntugis-unstable.list

echo "deb-src xenial main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntugis-unstable.list

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install qgis python-qgis qgis-plugin-grass

#for some plugins QtWebKit is needed:

sudo apt-get install libqtwebkit-dev python3-pip python3-setuptools

pip install jupyter==1.0.0 qtconsole
