Without that view using the openstreetmap data mapping pistes would be much less useful. Thanks for pointing it out though. I appreciate that.

Even at low resolutions, even a short speck of a "national" route in Iceland is visible. And the site offers maps for Mountainbiking as well as commuting/touring. The people at openpistemap might get some inspirartion there. It seems so far they do not show Cross-country pistes ?

Have a look at www.opensnowmap.org.
All kind of ski pistes are there, and crosscountry routes too colored to their marking color, along with routing, elevation profile, piste search by name ...
The map is updated every day.
