Hamilton Work

Posted by Kevo on 5 January 2014 in English.

Since noticing that aerial imagery was updated for Hamilton & Burlington I’ve been busy working away on updating OSM data. Burlington was already pretty complete in terms of plazas, roads, laneways, paths, and parks, but I noticed Hamilton needed some lovin’, so I turned my attention there.

I’ve been busy adding in laneways, which were missing in a lot of the old neighbourhoods in the Lower City. Along with doing this, I realigned some of the roads so that the grid was closer to its real shape. Any block that looks a little large i check out to see if there are plazas, parks, or laneways going through the area.

Today I added in fairway, hole, and green info to Chedoke Golf Course’s two golf courses. The main reason being was that it takes up a huge area of the city so it looks kinda weird without much inside of it.

Most of the large changes I think have been made, but there is still a bunch of work to be done to make OSM the best map for Hamilton.
